“Parcel for a family from Ukraine” is humanitarian aid, given to Ukrainian families in need of support, who found themselves in Poland, fleeing Russian aggression. The money for the aid came all the way from Japan, and the packages purchased with the money have already reached families living in Jablonna and Krężnica Jareja.
The humanitarian aid campaign “Parcel for a family from Ukraine” was financed entirely by a monetary donation made by the Polish Chamber of Commerce in Japan (PCCIJ) to the Ukraine Relief Fund, run by the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce.
– The Polish Chamber of Commerce in Japan collected money for packages for Ukrainian families, the money was sent, and the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce helped distribute them, says Pawel Prokop, PUIG representative.
More than 8 tons of food in identical parcels have just been sent to families temporarily residing in the municipalities of Jablonna and Niedrzwica Duża, and will soon also go to those living in Lublin.
What is contained in such a package?
– The package weighs about 11 kilograms, and contains pasta, oil, cold cuts, coffee, tea, in general everything that is indispensable,” noted Pawel Prokop.
– Those families were selected that most need support and prepare their own meals. The principle was that the parcel should go to families that do not live in hotels, where wikt and care is provided,” adds Prokop.
Some of the packages went to 22 Ukrainian families living in a house-centre in Krężnica Jareja. Among those received was Ms. Olena and her son, who has been staying there since July this year.
– I come from the Dnipropetrovsk region, which was shelled by the Russians. My husband stayed in the country and is fighting in territorial defence. I feel very much at home here,” Mrs. Olena tells us.
