The financial donation agreement between the Polish Chamber of Commerce in Japan (PCCIJ) and the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce was signed on 16 October, 2022. The agreement concerned the donation of 5,000,000 JPY and defined its objectives:

a) the financial donation was to be spent for humanitarian aid purposes – to support Ukrainian citizens residing as refugees in Poland caused by Russia’s aggression,

b) due to the need to provide as much assistance as possible, to create decent conditions for Ukrainian refugees who are staying in Poland, the donated amount to be used for humanitarian aid – donation of food parcels.

The PCCIJ donation has been intended for the purpose of purchase of food products, defined as a weekly food package for each family. Its composition was described by the Ministry of Development of Local Communities and Territories of Ukraine.

Each single package contained the following: barley groats, cooking oil, muesli, buckwheat, mint tea, pasta, oatmeal, coffee, can of tuna, can of English stew, milk chocolate, black tea, plum jam, flour, rice, sugar, tomato sauce, mayonnaise, canned peas, canned corn, shortbread, milk bar, cocoa, salt, ketchup. The total weight of these products in one package amounted to 11 kg. A total of 809 packages were prepared. Over 8 tons of food were donated.

Parcels were distributed to Ukrainian families who fled to Poland to escape Russian aggression in December 2022. Families were residing in the following locations:

• Legnica 224 packages (in cooperation with the City of Legnica)

• Świnoujście 168 packages (in cooperation with the City Hall in Świnoujście)

• Lublin, Jabłonna and Niedrzwica Duża municipalities 249 packages (in cooperation with the Foundation for Management Initiatives from Lublin)

• Bielany district in Warsaw 168 packages (in cooperation with the Social Welfare Centre of the Bielany District)

Overall the financial resources provided by PCCIJ contributed to helping over 800 Ukrainian families temporarily staying in Poland.

“Pomoc Ukrainie – TOWU” – The Temporary Support Centre for Ukraine in Zawada near Opole with the administrative assistance of the The Polish Red Cross – Opole Regional Branch of the Polish Red Cross based in Opole City.

PCCIJ and the Polish Red Cross in Opole entered an agreement on November 2, 2022 for donation of 5,000,000 JPY. The main purpose of the agreement was to assist the activities for Ukraine and its citizens such as the purchase of articles for refugees at The Temporary Support Centre for Ukraine (TOWU) in Zawada near Opole.

Topic: „Package for a family from Ukraine” – a humanitarian aid project for Ukrainian families temporarily staying in Poland. Report.

The project financed thanks to donation provided by the Polish Chamber of Commerce in Japan (PCCIJ). The project has been implemented in Poland by the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce.

„a) is intended by the Recipient for humanitarian aid purposes – to support Ukrainian citizens residing as refugees in Poland because of Russia’s aggression.

The agreement sets out administrative costs related to the execution of the contract payable to the Recipient at 8 percent of the amount of the donation. The administrative costs include costs of promotional services through social media referred to in subsection d of this section, and administrative expenses of the Recipient”.

2. The funds mentioned above were transferred on November 2nd, 2022, to a separate account of the Polish – Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, used exclusively for humanitarian aid. PLN 153,965.00 was credited to the account.

Facebook campaign provided in November 2022 was satisfactory.3 days = 49 471 views and 32 513 recipients.
